Fundraiser for Ugandan Hospital

A fundraiser for the Ugandan hospital was held at the home of Chuck and Leslie King in Atherton. Though not an official Kiwanis function, it was held to support the work Kiwanis has funded for several years that made it possible for director Hinga’s Andy Agaba to attend Harvard Kennedy School of Business and undertake building a much-needed hospital near Nansana, Uganda. It opened in May 2021. Kiwanis donations paid for the shipping of about $400,000 worth of medical equipment to Sebbe hospital that Hiinga had just built, and then later another donation of $30,000 helped build a school in 2022.

The way Hiinga is set up, the schools and the hospitals repay the funds. That means more schools and more hospitals can be built.
