Louise Dedera’s Energy and Experience Continues To Lead The Menlo Park Kiwanis Club

You could say that Louise DeDera is a real overachiever. You also can say that she’s helped many people along her journey to her latest achievement, leading Menlo Park’s Kiwanis Club.

In 2022, she was elected President of the Menlo Park Kiwanis Club. A member of the Club for 32 years, she’s volunteered with the Club in many ways. Her most current efforts were with the club’s work helping a community based non-profit organization, Hiinga, in Kampala, Uganda.  Her leadership resulted in the Club’s obtaining equipment for a new hospital and funding a much-needed school, more than meeting the Kiwanis goal of “serving the children of the world”.

Louise also has been a long-time volunteer at Allied Arts Guild, serving 50 years in many capacities—raising funds for children’s health, working with the Shop Committee for the Guild’s Artisan Shop at Allied Arts, and managing it for several years as a volunteer. She continues to organize the annual Christmas Market at Allied Arts Guild held on the first Saturday of December.

Louise is a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) and currently serves as Regent for El Palo Alto DAR. She’s also quite active with two Menlo Park churches.

She received her BA and MA degrees from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Once a teacher in Portola Valley, she now balances family with being a Realtor with Compass. Husband Roger, daughter Kathy and grandchildren Clare & Sophie round out her very full life.
